Hubbard operators and spin-wave theory of Heisenberg magnets with arbitrary spin

V. V. Val'kov, S. G. Ovchinnikov

Abstract: A new method is proposed for constructing a spin-wave theory based on the exact connectior, between the spin operators and the Hubbard operators and making it possible to find simultaneously both the spin wave spectrum (in the Tyablikov approximation) as well as the population numbers of levels with different spin projections. For anisotropic ferromagnets and antiferromagnets a dispersion relation is obtained for the spin waves with exact allowance for the single-ion anisotropy It is established that there is a threshold with respect to the anisotropy and the temperature above which the spin-wave theory does not hold.
