Abstract:
The motion of a fast charged particle in a crystal in the channeling regime is studied in the framework of stochastic theory with the formalism of Markov processes. It is shown that the local decelerating capacity of the crystal and the local diffusion coefficient of the particles in the transverse phase or energy spaces can be expressed in terms of the correlation matrix of the random impulses (force – force). Methods of computer numerical analysis were used to form an integral transformation of the local correlation matrix, and diffusion functions characterizing the change in the transverse energy of the particles due to dynamical friction were obtained.
