Strong electron self-trapping in anharmonic two-band systems

Abstract: Strong electron self-trapping is analyzed in an atomic configuration described by an essentially anharmonic potential. The important effects of electron hybridization between the self-trapping and band states are taken into account. The correlation energy is investigated as a function of the configuration parameters of the system.
