Abstract: The history of development of Informatics as fundamental science and a complex scientific problem is considered. The analysis of evolution of representations about the maintenance of a subject of Informatics in Russia and other countries is spent. Various approaches to structurization of a subject domain of Informatics and the basic tendencies of its development for last decades are considered. The place of Informatics in system of a modern science and its interrelation with other scientific disciplines is analyzed.
