Varieties of associative rings in which all critical rings are basic

Abstract: Description of varieties, of associative rings, whose critical rings are basic is reduced to the case of varieties of algebras over a field of $p$ elements ($p$ is a prime number). This fact combined with Yu. N. Mal'tsev's results yields a complete description for the indicated varieties of odd or infinite characteristic.
