Proper automorphisms of universal algebras

Abstract: We introduce the notions of proper and purely proper automorphisms of a universal algebra and prove a theorem about representation of a group as a group of such automorphisms. Under some conditions we find a syntactic description for the central automorphisms of finite algebras.
