On Riemann matrices of the first and second kind

Abstract: A Riemann representation is obtained for the solutions of the Cauchy problem for a first order hyperbolic system in two independent variables, and applications of this construction to the study of the stability and dichotomy of solutions are indicated.
The main results of this paper have been announced earlier (see RZh.Mat., 1983, 4B433).
