Abstract: The article presents an algorithm for adapting the agricultural production system to climate change, which is based on the transformation of existing agricultural production systems of various levels into systems with adaptive properties to climate change. It is noted that as a result of solving this problem, an effectively functioning hierarchical system should be obtained, the elements of which are agricultural production systems at the regional level. At the same time, it should be able to achieve the goals set before them, which are not limited to ensuring food security of the country. The system should be able to provide the industries associated with it with raw materials and, in addition, active participation of Russia in ensuring global food security. The objectives of this problem are formulated, methods for their solution are proposed.
