Abstract: The paper represents the extended talk at the Young Scientist International School-Conference “Theory and Numerical Methods for Solution of Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems”. The goal of the paper is to give a presentation of inverse scattering problems arising in scanning flow cytometry and methods for their solution.

Keywords: scanning flow cytometry, inverse light scattering, blood cells, discrete diplole approximation, $T$-matrix method, Mie scattering.
