Quasi-conformal maps and the asymptotic geometry of manifolds

Abstract: This survey concerns some problems and results in the theory of quasi-conformal maps (mainly of the spatial theory and mainly in the geometric aspect). The development of ideas is traced from their origin to their modern realization, and a series of new problems is indicated which arose naturally from solutions of old problems.
