Abstract:
The review surveys the results of studies (with the use of various physicochemical methods) on the geometrical structures of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate–ethylene dimethacrylate and styrene–divinylbenzene copolymers as well as ultracross-linked polystyrenes ('Styrosorbs') – both the initial structures and those modified by amines and aminoalcohols. The influence of the porous structure of the aminated polymers on the adsorption and chromatographic properties was examined mainly in relation to the absorption of carbon and sulphur dioxides. The importance of optimisation of the structure of polymeric adsorbents in their practical application is demonstrated. The bibliography includes 132 references.
