Abstract:
The current position of the problem of the activation of C–C bonds in alkanes and cycloalkanes is examined. The two main routes for the cleavage of unactivated single C–C bonds – metal-complex cleavage on an unsaturated coordinate metal site and electrophilic cleavage – are discussed. The literature data on the development of catalysts for the "low-temperature" cleavage of C–C bonds in alkanes are correlated. The bibliography includes 158 references.
