Abstract: The published data on the main methods for the preparation of polymeric supports containing nucleic acids (NA) or their fragments (oligonucleotides) are reviewed with special emphasis on chemical immobilisation. Some physical and physicochemical immobilisation techniques, including those based on the use of enzymes and avidin–biotin interactions and preparation of NA-containing supports by direct oligonucleotide synthesis on these supports are considered. A special section is devoted to the application of NA-containing sorbents for the isolation of individual NA and proteins as well as in hybridisation analysis including those utilising DNA chips and DNA biosensors. The bibliography includes 391 references.
