Abstract: The results of experimental studies on the synthesis of individual organometallic transition metal compounds and of studies on their catalytic activity in stereospecific diene polymerisation and copolymerisation processes are surveyed. The kinetics of the polymerisation under the influence of various nickel-, chromium-, titanium-, and molybdenum-containing systems are examined. The stereoregulation mechanism and the principal characteristics of coordination copolymerisation are discussed on the basis of the experimental data.
