Abstract: This review is devoted to recent advances in the development and study of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for the reduction of water to molecular hydrogen and its oxidation to molecular oxygen. The production of micro-heterogeneous systems for photocatalytic charge separation is also discussed. 114 references.
