Abstract: The physicochemical and physical properties of monomolecular and multimolecular structures obtained by the Langmuir–Blodgett method are surveyed. Attention is concentrated on the examination of the microscopic picture of the phenomena underlying the applications of these structures in optoelectronics and micro-electronics.
