Abstract:
The results of research into the chemistry of azaindoles during the last ten years are examined and the advances in the development of new methods for the synthesis and the study of the chemical and physicochemical characteristics of the behaviour of azaindole systems containing condensed rings with an excess and a deficiency of π-electrons are discussed. The studies on the nature of the biological activity of various derivatives of isomeric azaindoles are summarised. The bibliography includes 267 references.
