Abstract:
The methods of synthesis of Group IB metal organoacetylides in weakly alkaline and neutral electron-donating media are examined and a systematic account is given of extensive experimental data concerning the reactions of copper and silver organoacetylides. Their chemical properties are compared with those of other classes of organic and organoelemental derivatives of the same metals. Much attention is devoted to the mechanisms of the reactions of copper and silver acetylides and their practical use in organic synthesis. The bibliography includes 270 references.
