Abstract:
The structure of organic compounds of arsenic is considered. Data are presented on the configurational stability and the energy of the inversion barrier in asymmetric arsines. The methods of synthesis of tertiary asymmetric arsenic compounds are surveyed. The results of the separation of asymmetric arsines into optically active isomers and the mechanisms of their transformation as well as the influence of substituents in the benzene ring on the optical activity are described. An analogy is drawn between the stereochemistries of organophosphorus and organoarsenic compounds. The bibliography includes 220 references.
