Non-stoichiometry of the Alkaline Earth Metal Oxides

Abstract: Experimental data on the departure from stoichiometry in the alkaline earth metal oxides (MO) have been summarised and analysed. The p–T–x diagram of BaO, and the equilibrium diagrams of the intrinsic atom defects in BaO and SrO, have been constructed. The relationship between the properties of the surface of MO crystals and their ability to emit electrons has been examined. The bibliography contains 94 references.
