Abstract:
Experimental data are examined and the present state of the theory of the oxidative dehydrogenation reactions of hydrocarbons is discussed. Fundamental varieties of oxidative dehydrogenation have been considered as a function of dehydrogenating agent and the involvement of the solid surface in the process. Attention is concentrated on the elucidation of the process characteristics, the reaction mechanisms, and the nature of the active surface. The bibliography includes 196 references.
