Abstract:
The behaviour of organic derivatives of Group IVB elements is markedly influenced by dπ–pπ interaction in the ground and excited states. Chemical and physical techniques are nowadays widely used to investigate dπ–pπ interaction. This review deals with the results of certain spectroscopic (NMR and infrared) studies on this effect. The experimental data obtained by NMR and infrared spectroscopy have been compared in a number of cases with the results obtained by other research techniques. The bibliography includes 222 references.
