Abstract:
A systematic account is given of data on certain problems in the theory of catalytic dehydrogenation relevant to the reaction mechanism and the elucidation of the nature of the active centres. The intermediate products of the hydrogenation reactions, the role of individual elementary stages, the nature of intermediate surface compounds, the side reactions of dehydrogenation catalysts, and modern hypotheses concerning the structure of the active centres are discussed. The bibliography includes 216 references.
