Abstract:
The polarisation, in excess of the equilibrium value, of electrons and nuclei in the species generated in chemical reactions was observed in ESR and NMR spectra quite recently and during the last 2–3 years studies of this kind have developed vigorously. The aim of the present review is to present the principal results of studies on chemically induced polarisation of electrons and nuclei, to formulate the ideas and concepts concerning the nature of the phenomena discussed, and also to attempt an assessment of their importance and prospects. The bibliography includes 70 references.
