Dual Reactivity of Ambident Anions

Abstract: The present state of the problem of the dual reactivity of ambident anions, i.e. anions with two reactive centres, is reviewed. The factors influencing the reactions of such anions are discussed and certain relations are interpreted from the standpoint of the principle of hard and soft acids and bases.
