Benzoisoquinolines and Azafluorenes

Abstract: Methods of preparation, synthetic reactions, and properties are surveyed for the difficultly accessible polyfused nitrogen-containing heterocyclic systems – benzo[f]isoquinoline, benzo[g]isoquinoline, benzo[h]isoquinoline, and azafluorenes in which the position of the nitrogen atom in the pyridine ring varies. A list of 77 references is included.
