Abstract: The theoretical foundations of the thermokinetic method of investigating chemical reactions are discussed. An analysis is made of the method as applied to the kinetics of adiabatic and non-adiabatic reactions, including heterogeneous catalysis. Methods of calculating kinetic parameters from experimental thermokinetic curves by different versions of the method are discussed. New ways of applying the thermokinetic method to studies of heterogeneous catalysis in flow systems are proposed. Examples are given of the use of the thermokinetic method in studies of a wide range of chemical reactions. The advantages of the thermokinetic method are briefly assessed. 50 references.
