Abstract:
The chemical and microbiological methods developed for the synthesis of polyprenols and dolichols are examined. These methods involve the construction of regular functionalised (Z)-isoprenoids accompanied by the creation of new C–C and/or (Z)-trisubstituted C=C bonds. Also considered are the highly regioselective and enantioselective procedures for the conversion of α-functionalised isoprenoids into their 2,3-dihydro-derivatives. The bibliography includes 87 references.
