Abstract: The results of theoretical and experimental studies of the molecular structure of the oxides of boron and aluminium X₂O₃, X₂O₂, X₂O, and XO₂ (X = B, Al), carried out mainly by spectroscopic methods using matrix-isolation techniques, and also by quantum-mechanical calculations, have been reviewed. The bibliography includes 70 references.
