Surface nature of discontinuities of the induced change in the refractive index of lithium niobate

Abstract: The results are given of an experimental investigation of the influence of the geometry of the incident light on discontinuities of changes in the refractive index of iron-doped lithium niobate crystals. An anomalous behavior of the photorefraction in the surface layers of a crystal is demonstrated.
