New method for theoretical calculations of the characteristics of an atom in a strong electromagnetic field

Abstract: A standard method for calculations of the characteristics of an atom in a strong field is proposed. This is based on the concepts of the quantum theory of Markovian processes. Its efficacy in quantitative computer calculations for general fields is demonstrated.
