Influence of the scanning velocity of an electron beam on the output parameters of a longitudinally pumped semiconductor laser

Abstract: An experimental and theoretical study was made of the influence of the scanning velocity on the average output power and efficiency of a semiconductor laser excited by a fast-electron beam. A study was made of the dynamic changes in the spectrum and output power during an excitation pulse. It was found that the laser action mechanism changed during stimulated emission and this reduced the laser efficiency at low scanning velocities.
