Measurement of the pumping rate and electron density in pulsed He–Eu and He–Sr lasers

Abstract: Under near-optimal conditions, measurements were made of the pumping rate of the upper active levels in He–Eu and He–Sr lasers and the results obtained were (0.6±0.3)×10²⁰ and (1.5±0.5)×10²⁰cm^–3sec^–1, respectively. The electron density was also measured in these lasers and the values obtained were 1.5×10¹⁴ and 3×10¹⁴cm^–3.
