Abstract:
Intracavity laser spectroscopy was used to observe gain lines for a5S–z5P0 and a5D–z5P0 transitions and absorption lines for b3G–x3G0 and z5P0–e5D transitions in Mo atoms in photolysis of Mo(CO)6. Gain lines were only observed in photolysis of Mo(CO)6 under adiabatic conditions and were converted to the corresponding absorption lines when up to 150 Torr argon was added. A possible amplification mechanism is discussed.
