Discharge-heated copper vapor laser

Abstract: A description is given of a copper vapor laser in whose capillary two successive discharges are produced, one serving to form the vapor and the other to create a population inversion in it. Since the capillary temperature is practically independent of the parameters of the gas discharge producing the inversion, it is easier to optimize the discharge circuit parameters.
