Abstract: An analysis is made of the dynamics of plasma formation accompanying the interaction of pulsed neodymium laser radiation with aluminum, copper, and nickel targets at average power densities in the range 0.9–50 MW/cm2. The results are given of determination of the time dependence of the diameter of particles of a nickel target in an erosion jet for different power densities of the plasma-generating laser.
