Switching waves between steady and transient states of large-aperture bistable interferometers

Abstract: Waves of switching between steady and transient (periodic and stochastic) states of a nonlinear ring interferometer are discovered and investigated. Pulsating spatially inhomogeneous distributions are found in the range of existence of a periodic state.
