Analysis of books cited in papers published in Kvantovaya Élektronika

Abstract: A statistical analysis is given of the references cited in papers published in Kvantovaya Élektronika between 1974 and May 1985. The most frequently cited books are identified and a variational series is established for them. The highly cited books are identified and the ranking distribution is based on the ratio of the number of citations to the number of copies of the journal which were printed. The information flows between quantum electronics and other branches of science are found and the books most frequently cited are given for each of the branches analyzed. Some comparisons are made with scientometric studies of analytic chemistry.
