Erbium minilaser operating under free-running and Q-switching conditions

Abstract: Active elements made of chromium ytterbium erbium glass LGS-Kh were operated under free-running conditions at a differential efficiency of 3.5%. Q-switched single pulses with energies up to 100 mJ were generated at an efficiency of 0.27%.
