Abstract: A fluorescent converter of ultraviolet radiation from a xenon pump lamp was used for the firsttime to generate picosecond laser pulses in a YAlO₃:Pr³⁺ crystal laser emitting at 0.7469 μm (³P₀→³F₄ transition).
