Laser control of gas diffusion through porous membranes

N. V. Karlov, B. S. Luk'yanchuk

Abstract: A simple phenomenological model is used in an analysis of the problem of filtrational diffusion of a gas through a porous membrane when one of the components of a binary mixture of gases is excited resonantly by laser radiation. The separation coefficient of the mixture and the mass yield of the filter are determined. A new method is suggested for measuring the sticking coefficients of unexcited and resonantly excited molecules incident on pore walls.
