New low-threshold noncentrosymmetric LaBGeO₅:Nd³⁺ laser crystal

Abstract: A new noncentrosymmetric LaBGeO₅:Nd³⁺ laser crystal was produced. It has a low threshold for stimulated emission as a result of two lasing transitions: ⁴F_3/2→⁴I_11/2 and ⁴F_3/2→⁴I_13/2. The spectroscopic properties of this crystal are reported.
