Investigation of the stimulated emission from Sr₂Y₅F₁₉ crystals doped with Nd³⁺ ions

Abstract: An investigation was made of the spectroscopic and lasing properties of Sr₂Y₅F₁₉:Nd³⁺ crystals. Stimulated emission was observed at 300°K at wavelengths of 1.0493 μ (⁴F_3/2 → ⁴I_11/2 transitions) and 1.3190 μ (⁴F_3/2 → ⁴I_13/2). The excitation thresholds were 40 and 75 J, respectively.
