Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the emission spectrum of a pulsed atmosphericpressure electron-beam-controlled CO2 laser having a pump pulse duration of 30μsec. It was established that lasing mainly occurs due to the P(18) and P(20) transitions with 70-90% of the total energy being released in the P(20) transition. It was found that the width of the emission line due to a rotational transition, integrated over the duration of a radiation pulse, did not exceed 2×10–2cm–1, while the width of one of the recorded components of the line was less than 4.7×10–3cm–1.
