Abstract:
An investigation was made of the spectra of formation of color centers in industrial silicate glasses. These centers were formed by ultraviolet radiation in a narrow band ~15 nm wide in the range λ = 180–240 nm. A correlation was found between the position of the short-wavelength absorption edge of a glass and the position of the spectrum of formation of color centers. The action of the usually employed antlsolarizers reduced mainly to the absorption of the photochemically active radiation of λ = 180–240 nm wavelengths.
