Abstract:
Two modifications of a high-power pulsed gas laser were developed. The discharge was longitudinal and the excitation source was either an Arkad'ev–Marx voltage pulse generator or a double cylindrical shaping line. In one modification use was made of the N2 transitions (λ = 337.1, 357.7, 315.9 nm). In this case the output power was 300 kW in the form of pulses of 50 Hz repetition frequency and 15 nsec duration or 1.8 MW in the case of single pulses of 8 nsec duration. In the other modification use was madeof neon (λ = 540.1 and 614.3 nm); in this case the output power was 10 kW for pulses of 15 nsec duration.
