Equivalence theorems in polarization optics and in optics of single-mode waveguides

Abstract: The results from the theory of linear operators in unitary space are used to formulate a number of equivalence theorems applicable to polarization optics and to optics of single-mode waveguides. These theorems may be used for the analysis and synthesis of fiber and integrated-optics systems.
