Microwave modulation of infrared radiation

Abstract: The electrooptic effect in gallium arsenide single crystals was used to modulate the infrared radiation of λ = 3.39 and 10.6 μ at frequencies of 0.6, 1.2, and 1.8 GHz. The resonator-type modulation was provided by the synchronous action of a microwave signal on the infrared radiation.
