Generation of fifth picosecond laser harmonic

Abstract: The fifth harmonic of the radiation of a mode-locked neodymium laser was generated in a multistage system. Strong coherent radiation of 200 kW power was obtained at λ₅ = 0.212 μ as a result of phase-matched four-frequency interaction in calcite (CaCO₃) at room temperature.
