Abstract:
A study was made of the optimization of the parameters of a YAG:Nd3+ laser whose radiation was converted to the second harmonic in a nonstoichiometric crystal of lithium metaniobate located in the laser resonator. The laser was operated under quasi-cw conditions. "Complete" (100%) conversion was attained when the power of the fundamental-frequency radiation was 310 mW. The peak powers of the fundamental and the second-harmonic radiation were 370 and 500 W, respectively.
